Leading with Agility
Market disruptions, strategic pivots and the increased pace of change all require executives to lead with greater agility. But what does that mean in terms of actual behavior? How do we develop greater agility in our leaders and the people who report to them? How do we build work environments that encourage experimentation, learning from failure and resiliency?
Brian Saluzzo is a Unit CIO at American Express, charged with transforming the way hundreds of technology professionals develop the platforms and infrastructure that Amex needs to serve its cardmembers, merchants and employees. When he saw that his technologists did not have the agility they needed to perform their roles in a constantly changing environment, he turned to Performance of a Lifetime (POAL) for help.
Join Brian and Maureen Kelly, POAL’s Managing Director, to hear what they’ve done over the past four years to develop more agile leaders at American Express, leaders who embrace the unexpected and have “learned to become comfortable being uncomfortable,” as a team member put it.
Come prepared to do more than listen - you’ll get an experiential taste of what Maureen and Brian talk about. POAL uses the tools of the theater to help people give new “performances” and develop resilient “ensembles” as they face new challenges. You’ll leave with some new and more agile ways to interact with the people in your work and life.
