Retirement Reboot: New Longevity, New Options

There are 77 million Baby Boomers in the US today, representing 30-40% of the work force which has huge implications for business. Our distinguished panel will focus on what businesses are doing as part of their workforce strategy.

The 'retirement eligible' cohort is seeking re-skilling, new education opportunities as well as guidance on 'second career' options and possibly doing jobs they never imagined. Many are understandably apprehensive as they contemplate the transition to having no schedule and many options. This poses interesting challenges for businesses who could potentially lose 15-25% of their seasoned workers and historical knowledge. Interestingly, there are a number of resources emerging to support both business and these individuals.

During our session, our distinguished panel will share insights and provide exciting ideas for how to make the next chapter an exciting and fulfilling phase of person's life.

Key questions that the panel will consider:

  • How can HR help shape an inclusive, inter-generational work environment?
  • What are the implications of ageism on promotions and hiring decisions?
  • How can HR professionals address age-related bias in the workplace?
