New York HR People & Strategy (NYHRPS) is an active, dynamic, and diverse community of executives who share innovative ideas, cutting-edge research, and breakthrough practices. In addition to the criteria for membership described above, members should have a minimum of 10-15 years of progressive human resource and/or leadership experience. Exceptional candidates for membership who don't meet the criteria will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We know that our members value interacting with a mix of HR practitioners, consultants, and academics. For this reason, in 2020 we are continuing to focus on rebalancing the member mix to increase the percentage of internal practitioners. For the time being, we will be only accepting new members that are internal HR practitioners with 10-15+ years of experience. All current consultant and academic members will be guaranteed renewal and are welcome to remain members in 2020. If you are not an internal practitioner, you are always welcome to attend on a pay as you go basis for one or all of our programs.
The application review process takes 2-3 weeks; applicants may be contacted for additional information by a Membership Committee member. Applicants approved for membership will be notified by email. Applicants whose membership applications are denied will be notified and membership dues will be refunded. In circumstances where an applicant attends an event while the decision about his/her membership is pending and, subsequently, membership is declined, the applicant will receive a $200 refund, as the standard $100 event attendance fee is non-refundable.
