Neal Wendel

Neal has over 25 years’ experience as a Human Resources executive in financial services organizations.  His areas of expertise include Strategic Talent Management, Leadership Development, Change Management, Colleague Engagement & Retention, & Career Coaching.  He has recently began providing Outplacement Counseling for The Ayers Group and Career Counseling for Early Stage Career Clients through Early Stage Careers.

For the past seven years, Neal was a Senior HR Business Partner at Marsh, where he provided Strategic HR Consulting support to the Northeast Core Brokerage Business and the National Casualty Risk Practice.

Previously, Neal was a Managing Director of Credit Suisse in the Talent, Branding and Communications division. He built and lead the Credit Suisse Alumni Network. Prior to this role, Mr. Wendel was the Global HR Business partner for the Investment Banking Technology Group and the IT HR Region Head for the Americas where he participated in the creation of the IT Division’s i-Drive Human Capital Strategy.

Neal joined Credit Suisse in May 2006 from JPMorgan Chase, where he was an HR Business Partner in the Global Technology HR Team. Prior to his six years at JPMorgan Chase, he spent four years at American Express; first heading up American Express Bank's Global Training and Development function and then moving to a Corporate Development role, supporting many American Express core businesses, including Credit Cards, Establishment Services and the Global Technology Group. Prior to joining American Express, Neal spent 11 years at Citibank in a variety of Training and Development roles, including Global Head of Training for the Citibank Trade Finance Business and ended his time there as a Global Product Manager to Citibank's Electronic Trade Finance Products.

Neal holds an M.B.A. in Organizational Behavior from Pace University and a B.S. in Computer Science from Brooklyn College.  He also holds a Certification in Training and Management Development from NYUSCE.

Neal teaches business communications and Advanced HR at Baruch College as an adjunct instructor and has also served on the Board of NYHR People & Strategy, for the past 7 years; first as chair of Sponsorships and now as Co-chair of Membership.
