A message from Our Co-Presidents

We are back from Denver and another terrific HRPS Conference!

Key Learnings…..  It’s time to hit reboot on some of our talent management practices rooted in the past and out of touch with today’s workforce, employee values, our access to information, and capabilities offered via mobile and social technologies. Move from “managing” employees needed in the industrial age to leading our knowledge workers by providing direction, meaning, information, and the freedom to innovate. And we need to get comfortable with letting go of control and experimenting with new processes, test and fail fast, and learn.

NYHRPS was well represented – Jim Cornehlsen, Mila Baker, and Anna Tavis were in attendance as well as Board members Valeria Schieman,  Marianne Gattinella, Valerie Norton and Kay Henry.  Valerie was Conference Co-Chair and Mila was on the Committee; Valerie and Anna are on the HRPS Board and Anna is also Editor of HR People & Strategy, Jim is on the Membership Committee and Kay received the HRPS Lifetime Achievement Award! All in all………………NYHRPS contribution was a notable one!
